Project Tiger Reserve - If we humans could have our way, we'd
plough a virgin forest and make it a so called civilized area without
pausing to think that we might be displacing species that might be living
there for ages. It's like capturing someone else's home. Tigers were being
displaced by humans in the same way. To protect them, the Central Government
started Project Tiger in India and Corbett National Park was the first
national park where this project was initiated. Corbett National Park has
both, the dense forests intermingling with the open grasslands. The park is
named after the legendary Jim Corbett who lived here for many years and his
book "The Man Eaters of Kumaon" is still widely read by the
wildlife enthusiasts Jim Corbett Park. A jeep safari or an elephant safari is the best way to
explore the wildlife in the Corbett National Park Tiger in Jim Corbett.
Since the park has a variety of
topography and vegetation, the flora and fauna of the park also show the
same diversity Project Tiger Reserve. The Corbett National park has about 110 plant species, 50
mammal species, 580 avifauna species and 25 reptile species. Of course the
Bengal tigers and elephants are stars among the animals, yet the other
animals that serve as fodder for the tiger are no less important Wildlife Safari to Corbett. These are
hog deer, sambar, chital, wild boar and barking deer. This park is a haven
for other animals as well such as Himalayan black bear, sloth bear, dhole
and a whole lot of birds such as various water birds, pheasants, jungle
fowl, Indian hornbill etc.
There are safari options galore at the
Corbett National Park be it the Jeep Safari, Horse Safari, Elephant Safari.
You get to see the animals in their natural environments. Although the Jeeps
can penetrate deeper into the forests, you cannot get that close to the
animals as you can do with elephant safaris Wildlife Safari to Corbett.

characteristics of both Himalayan and peninsular vegetation.
