| Documents
Needed |
| Well,
no documents or permits are needed for the Indian citizens for trekking
in any area that lies outside the inner line. However, if you want to
trek inside the inner line, you'll need permission from the district
magistrate or the Central Home Ministry whereas the foreigners are not
allowed to cross the inner line. The altitude up to which you want to
go is also a criteria for requirement of permission. For example, if
you want to trek up to the height of 4900 meters, then no permission
is required (foreigners can trek on tourist visas). Above that height,
you need to take permission beforehand. If you are taking a camera along,
you'll need a permission for that too.

In spite of the fact that Ladakh has
been thrown open to tourism by the government, the name of the place still

least for you). So ... join us at Vacations India to enjoy these
